Samsung, LG engaging in pattern of serial dumping of washing machines: US senators from Ohio

( October 27, 2016, 19:02 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Samsung and LG are illegally dumping washing machines into the US by changing the countries of origin for the products and evading antidumping duties, US senators from Ohio said in a letter to the Commerce Department. Antidumping duties are in place against Samsung and LG on imports from Korea and Mexico. However, Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman wrote, the two companies have shifted production to China and are dumping washing machines from there. They also said that Samsung reportedly has begun production in Vietnam and Thailand, and urged Commerce to address "a pattern of serial dumping and duty evasion."Statement and letter follow....
