US Chamber of Commerce says FTC delaying in suit over FOIA information denials

( April 14, 2023, 21:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Chamber of Commerce says its case against the Federal Trade Commission alleging the agency failed to comply with legal Freedom of Information Act requests regarding the use of "zombie votes" and its assessment of Illumina's acquisition of Grail is "languishing" and requires intervention by a federal judge. The group says the FTC is failing to produce requested documents on time, and is asking the court to impose a schedule. But in the joint status report, the FTC says agencies are "struggling mightily to respond to a cascade of FOIA requests that seek troves and troves of records," that its FOIA unit has worked "grueling hours" to accommodate the plaintiffs' requests, and that the court should not intervene by imposing interim deadlines.Court document attached....
