Spokeo, PeopleFinders, BeenVerified urge US appeals court to reverse ZoomInfo decision

( August 26, 2022, 16:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three online people-search services — Spokeo, PeopleFinders, and BeenVerified — asked a US appeals court to reverse a lower court decision allowing privacy and right-of-publicity litigation to move forward against ZoomInfo Technologies. The three companies said in an amicus brief that the case against ZoomInfo turns on "whether providing accurate, publicly available information, such as an individual’s name, phone number, job title, and workplace address, in a 'teaser' profile on a people-search website causes the individual concrete harm sufficient to confer standing under Article III of the Constitution," and that the trial court judge incorrectly decided that the answer to that question is yes.See attached document....
