Lenovo Group must pay InterDigital Technology $178.3 million plus interest, UK court rules

The UK Court of Appeal said a $0.225 royalty on each of the 792,571,429 infringing cellular units sold by Lenovo since 2007 constitutes fair, reasonable and nondiscriminatory terms for a license to InterDigital’s standard essential patents.Lenovo Group is on the hook for $178.3 million in lump sum royalties at 4 percent interest, compounded quarterly, in a longstanding dispute with standard essential patent, or SEP, holder InterDigital Technology....
