European Parliament panel backs deal with EU nations on bill obliging terrorist content removal

( January 12, 2021, 11:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: The European Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee has endorsed an agreement with EU governments on terrorist content legislation. Under the act, platforms must remove materials such as texts, images, sound recordings or videos, including live transmissions, that incite, solicit or contribute to terrorist offenses, provide instructions for such offenses or solicit people to participate in a terrorist group. Platforms that fail to remove or disable the content within an hour will face fines.Full press release below....
