Grab, Trans-cab deal prohibited in Singapore regulator's provisional decision

( July 11, 2024, 09:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Digital platform Grab’s planned acquisition of Singapore's third-largest taxi operator, Trans-cab Holdings, violates competition rules against anti-competitive mergers, according to the provisional decision of the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore. The regulator said the deal will likely entrench and strengthen Grab’s already dominant position in the ride-hail platform market to the detriment of drivers and passengers. The parties still have 10 working days from the receipt of the provisional decision to offer solutions to address the competition concerns raised. The full statement is attached. ...
