Twitter bans Trump account permanently as other social media companies cut ties

Trump had been banned briefly after his divisive online rhetoric fueled deadly violence on Capitol Hill this week. But Twitter decided to disable Trump's account permanently after closely reviewing his most recent posts, saying they could incite a second assault on the US Capitol.
