​Samsung Heavy Industries FCPA deferred prosecution agreement splits fine between DOJ, Brazilians

( November 22, 2019, 22:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Samsung Heavy Industries has agreed to pay $75 million to settle Foreign Corrupt Practices Act charges. Half the fine will be paid to DOJ and the other half to Brazilian authorities. If the Brazilian fines are not paid by Nov. 25, the full amount will be due to DOJ. The firm received credit for its cooperation, remediation and lack of criminal history. It did not receive full credit under sentencing guidelines because it did not voluntarily disclose the wrongdoing.See document below....
