Judge approves $15 billion consent decree in VW emissions manipulation case

( October 25, 2016, 17:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A US federal judge has approved a consent decree between the US government and German automaker Volkswagen which will compensate customers who bought 2-liter diesel cars under a deceptive marketing campaign that hid emission results. The consent decree also will require Volkswagen to pay sanctions to remediate the environmental damage done by the illegally excessive emissions of the automobiles. VW must pay $15 billion in compensation and sanctions under the terms of the consent decree.Please see attached order....
