Convicted Capital One hacker sentenced to five years of probation by US judge

By Amy Miller ( October 4, 2022, 20:55 GMT | Insight) -- Convicted Capital One hacker Paige Thompson was sentenced today to five years of probation, which will include three years of home confinement. Thompson will also be required to perform 50 hours of community service annually during her probation, and the US probation office will also closely monitor her computer activities. US District Judge Robert S. Lasnik said he's confident Thompson won't commit any further crimes. “If that does happen, I’ll admit my mistake,” Lasnik said. “I believe in her and believe she will prove this is the right sentence going forward.”Convicted Capital One hacker Paige Thompson was sentenced today to time served and to five years of probation, which will include three years of home confinement....
