EC Statement: Antitrust - Commission market tests Thomson Reuters' commitments on Reuters Instrument Codes

( December 14, 2011, 09:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission invites interested parties to submit comments on commitments offered by Thomson Reuters to remedy concerns that it is abusing its dominant position in the market for consolidated real-time datafeeds. According to the commission's assessment, Reuters may be restricting competition by prohibiting customers to use its instrument codes to retrieve data from rivals against a licence fee. The company has now offered to grant its customers additional RIC symbology usage rights that should allow financial institutions to switch more easily between financial data providers.Read the full press release below....
