Insurance company pays GDPR fine in Spain

( October 4, 2022, 10:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An insurance company, Caja de Seguros Reunidos Compañia de Seguros y Reaseguros, has paid a fine of 24,000 euros imposed by the Spanish data protection authority for illegal data processing. The company had made several modifications to the claimant's life insurance policy in connection to a mortgage loan, the regulator said. In particular, the insurance company had, without prior consent, changed the claimant's name and his bank account details into his ex-partner's name as a sole policyholder, the regulator said. The initial fine amounted to 40,000 euros, but it was reduced as the company decided to make a voluntary payment.The decision is attached in Spanish. ...
