Three Italian healthcare providers receive GDPR fines

( January 24, 2023, 17:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three healthcare providers in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia have each been fined 55,000 euros by the national data protection authority, for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. The companies had, without sufficient legal basis and consent, processed data by algorithms to plan medical interventions in relation to the coronavirus emergency, the watchdog said.
