Mobile industry a 'step closer' to 5G following frequency boost by UN agency

( November 22, 2019, 16:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The world's mobile industry is "a step closer to making the full power of 5G something everyone can experience," said the GSM Association, after the World Radiocommunication Conference of the UN’s telecom agency agreed to allow operators to deploy 5G services through millimeter-wave frequencies in the 26-gigahertz, 40GHz and 66GHz ranges. The lobby group also praised the conference's plan to look into earmarking in its next edition in 2023 additional frequencies for 5G in mid- and low-frequency bands.Statement follows....
