Application of US digital tax retaliation on French imports is 'unclear,' EU official says

The US was set to impose an additional 25 percent tariff on about $1.3 billion worth of French imports from Jan. 6 ― a move that would require a change of the US tariff schedule applicable to French goods. But such a modification hasn't been made by US authorities, Benjamin Angel, director for direct taxation at the European Commission, said on Twitter.It’s “unclear” whether the US punitive tariffs over France’s digital-services tax started applying from yesterday, a senior EU customs official said today....
