Ocado Group to be removed from UK supplier-fairness rules, UK CMA decides

( November 21, 2019, 10:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Ocado Group is to be removed from supplier-fairness rules for large UK grocers, the Competition and Markets Authority has provisionally decided. After “Ocado Retail” — a retail supply company created as a joint venture with Marks & Spencer — was previously designated as coming under the Groceries Supply Code of Practice, the CMA then probed whether “Ocado Group” should be delisted. This is the name of the company’s wider entity, primarily linked to its “solutions” fulfillment technology. The code is designed to protect suppliers and prevent grocers from abusing their commercial power.
