Germany investigates Apple under new competition-law rules for large digital companies

In a first step, the authority is reviewing whether Apple is of paramount significance for competition across markets. Apple' s proprietary operating system iOS could have created a digital ecosystem around its iPhone that extends across several markets. The probe will look into the company's extensive integration across several market levels, the magnitude of its technological and financial resources and its access to data, the regulator said.
