Jet Airways, IndiGo and SpiceJet fined for fixing fuel surcharges

( March 8, 2018, 09:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- The Competition Commission of India has fined Jet Airways, IndiGo Airlines and SpiceJet for their roles in fixing fuel surcharge rates on cargo flights. The CCI said “a clear pattern [in fuel surcharge pricing revisions] is seen to emerge which indicates concerted and coordinated efforts by the airlines,” aided by the use of common agents that acted “as a channel to transfer information from one airline to another.”(Summary continues)...
