Plaintiffs ask US Supreme Court to hear child sex-trafficking suit against Backpage.com

( August 31, 2016, 16:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three “Jane Doe” plaintiffs filed a petition with the US Supreme Court in their lawsuit against Backpage.com, accusing the online classified ads site of facilitating child sex-trafficking. Three individuals, who had been marketed in the sexual ads, sued Backpage at the trial court level and at the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston. The lawsuit was dismissed by the federal district court on the grounds that Backpage is immune from liability under Section 230 of Communications Decency Act.See document below. ...
