French companies secure first corruption settlements under Sapin II law

( March 7, 2018, 15:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Insulation company Kaefer Wanner and pollution cleanup firm SET Environnement have become the first companies to agree settlements with French prosecutors for corruption offenses under the country's new Sapin II legislation. The companies were fined a total of 3.5 million euros following a settlement reached with prosecutors in Nanterre. Employees at the companies were accused of bribing an EDF agent to secure maintenance projects for thermal power plants.The settlements (in French) are attached below....
