Seventh Circuit says Motorola Solutions copyright award must be revisited, but trade secret award will stand

( July 2, 2024, 01:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Because the Defend Trade Secrets Act can be applied extraterritorially, a more than $400 million award in favor of Motorola Solutions and against Hytera Communications will stand, the Seventh Circuit concluded.  In the same ruling, the panel said an Illinois federal judge must "substantially" reduce Motorola's $136 million award on its copyright infringement claims, which cannot be extended to infringement overseas.See document below....
