BBVA pays EUR84,000 Spanish GDPR fine

( April 4, 2023, 12:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria has paid a fine of 84,000 euros imposed by the Spanish data protection authority for violating the EU's General Data Protection Regulation. The watchdog found that BBVA's conduct of registering the data subject on a central national credit register was contrary to Article 6 of the GDPR. It also failed to fulfill the data subject's right to access Article 15, the watchdog said. The initial fine amounted to 140,000 euros, which was reduced after BBVA agreed to make a voluntary payment.The decision is attached in Spanish. ...
