South Korea’s Trade Commission launches anti-dumping probe into China plywood imports

( July 22, 2015, 02:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s Trade Commission is launching an official investigation into Chinese firms for allegedly dumping plywood, with a recommendation to levy preliminary punitive tariffs of 3.4 percent to 5.9 percent. The decision to start a formal investigation comes after a four-month preliminary probe during which Chinese companies reduced their sales of plywood made from needle-leaf trees in an apparent effort to avoid anti-dumping tariffs. The South Korean government began imposing anti-dumping tariffs of 2.42 percent to 27.21 percent on broad-leaf plywood imports from China in October 2013.The commission's statement, in Korean, is attached....
