DOJ closes AT&T-DirecTV probe without taking action

( July 21, 2015, 22:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Department of Justice is closing its antitrust investigation into AT&T's proposed buyout of DirecTV without taking any action, Bill Baer, head of the DOJ's antitrust division, said in a statement Tuesday. The DOJ concluded the merger wouldn't harm competition, he said. Baer praised conditions the Federal Communications Commission is considering as part of its approval of the deal, saying they would "provide significant benefits to millions of subscribers.”  Statement follows in full....
