EU hydrogen sector to get incentives in mid-July proposals, Timmermans says

( June 17, 2021, 11:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hydrogen companies operating in the EU will get favorable rules in a set of legislative proposals, known as the “fit for 55” package, to be put forward by the European Commission in mid-July, the bloc’s climate chief Frans Timmermans said today. A revision of the Emissions Trading System will give a “stronger price signal for investors to reward low carbon solutions like hydrogen,” he said. A certification system for “green” hydrogen will be included in an updated directive of renewable energy sources, and hydrogen infrastructure for transport applications will get a boost in the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure directive, he added. Speech follows. ...
