MásMóvil wins unconditional approval to buy Euskaltel in Spain

( June 17, 2021, 09:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: MásMóvil, Spain’s fourth biggest mobile operator, has won approval from the national competition watchdog to buy smaller rival Euskaltel. The CNMC said it found the deal wouldn’t harm competition since Euskaltel's presence at a national level is limited, so the addition to MásMóvil’s market share wouldn’t be significant. In regions such as Asturias, Galicia and the Basque Country, where Euskaltel is strong, there are other significant competitors exerting pressure, the authority said. The deal was viewed positively by other participants in light of consolidation taking place in the sector, it added.Statement follows....
