Italian steelmakers ask judges to annul cartel fines, saying readopted EU decision ‘violated’ their rights

The commission infringed their defense rights by failing to send them an official charge sheet before revising the decision in 2009, lawyers for the five manufacturers told judges at EU Court of Justice.  Italian steelmakers today urged EU judges to overturn 58.1 million euros ($63.8 million) in cartel fines against them, saying the European Commission had “violated” their rights when it readopted the decision....
