German electricity-market conditions largely unchanged in 2020, report says

( December 28, 2020, 10:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Germany's electricity-generation sector saw little changes in market conditions in 2020, the national competition authority has said in its annual report on the power markets. RWE isn't yet dominant, but could cross the threshold for market dominance in the near future due to Germany's phaseout of coal and nuclear power generation. The Bundeskartellamt said it would therefore keep a close eye on the market for the provision of balancing energy, which stabilizes the grid by balancing out frequency fluctuations.
