Mofcom conditionally clears Merck KGaA-AZ Electronic Materials deal

( April 30, 2014, 09:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China's Ministry of Commerce has cleared German liquid crystal maker Merck KGaA's $2.6 billion acquisition of UK-listed specialty chemical maker AZ Electronic Materials, subject to restrictive conditions. Among the conditions, Merck should not engage in any form of bundled sales that forces Chinese customers to buy both Merck's liquid crystal products and AZ's photoresist products.
