Brazilian federal court convicts former Camargo Corrêa executives in Petrobras scandal

( July 20, 2015, 17:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A federal court in Paraná state has convicted three former executives of construction company Camargo Corrêa — Dalton Avancini, Eduardo Leite and João Ricardo Auler — in a corruption scheme at state-controlled Petróleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras. The court also sentenced former Petrobras executive Paulo Roberto da Costa to 12 years of detention for laundering money in contracts between Petrobras and Camargo Corrêa, and money launderer Alberto Youssef to eight years and four months of detention. Both defendants, however, have signed agreements with federal prosecutors to cooperate with investigations and will have their sentences reduced.
