Yet the directives that remained in place are likely to create real pain for the tech giant and could create a regime that goes beyond the European Union’s challenge to the Android business model. In particular, the Competition Commission of India’s demand that Google crack open its pre-installed suite of apps and that device manufacturers be allowed to negotiate which of the 11 apps they want to install is likely to reverberate internationally, local lawyers say. India is fast becoming one of Google's worst nightmares, with a recent court ruling upholding parts of an enforcement decision striking at the heart of the business model that underpins the Android mobile-device operating system....
