Crypto-exchange BITpoint Japan says 3 billion yen worth of cryptocurrencies lost in breach

( July 16, 2019, 02:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tokyo-based Remixpoint, which owns cryptocurrency exchange BITpoint Japan, announced it lost 3.02 billion yen ($28 million) worth of virtual currency it manages due to a security breach. Of those lost, 2.06 billion yen worth belonged to account holders — which it said will guarantee in full — while 960 million were owned by BITpoint. BITpoint trades in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple, but didn’t say which cryptocurrencies were lost.
