Repsol fined in Spain for failure to fulfil fuel-station antitrust commitments

( December 18, 2020, 09:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Repsol has been fined 5 million euros by the Spanish competition authority, for failing to fulfil conditions imposed on it in 2009 and 2013. The company had been found guilty of breaking antitrust rules alongside Cepsa and BP by indirectly setting retail prices, and by restricting competition between its own filling stations and those of other operators. Repsol had until the end of 2018 to change its contracts in a way that the fuel-transfer price would meet objective criteria. But in 2019, Repsol was still not in line with the requirements imposed on it in its relationships with some operators of gas stations, the watchdog concluded in a statement sent out today in its decision to impose a fine.Statement follows (in Spanish). ...
