( March 27, 2023, 23:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Australia’s privacy watchdog is working with Latitude Financial to better understand the recent cyberattack in which millions of personal records were stolen from the Australian payments company. In a statement to MLex dated March 27, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner said it was making “preliminary inquiries” into the incident, in which 7.9 million driver licenses, 53,000 passport numbers and 6.1 million further customer records — some dating back to 2005 — were stolen.
