Netflix expected to pay up to EUR200 million a year to fund French film industry, Bachelot says

Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and other streaming platforms operating in France — not obliged until now to back the movie industry — will have to pay each year a contribution of 20 to 25 percent of their annual sales in the country once the decree is published.Netflix is expected to pay up to 200 million euros a year as part of France's pending decree implementing the transposition of the EU broadcasting rules into the country's law, culture minister Roselyne Bachelot said today....
