Cloud-computing privacy code gets conditional welcome from group of EU watchdogs

( February 26, 2018, 13:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU's umbrella group of privacy regulators has welcomed a draft code of conduct for operators of cloud-computing infrastructure, aimed at helping cloud services remain compliant with EU privacy rules. The Article 29 Working Party said it has a positive first impression of the code, but the wording should be sharpened to distinguish between mandatory and optional rules and to remove ambiguities. Compliance is checked against existing EU privacy rules, and a separate approval is needed after May 25, when the EU's new data-privacy law enters force, to be valid under the new rules.The full document is linked below...
