Fashion brand Fossil sees favorable ruling from top court in double-tax state aid dispute

( September 15, 2022, 08:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US fashion brand Fossil has received a favorable ruling from EU's top court, in a dispute over whether an arrangement with Gibraltar's tax authorities to discount taxes paid in the US. The European Court of Justice said that an EU state aid decision against Gibraltar did not ban such a provision, and said it could only contravene EU state aid law if it was discriminatory, given EU countries' sovereignty on tax matters.The press release and the ruling are attached.
