Anthropic shared latest AI model with UK AI safety institute before today’s launch

In a rare move, the company revealed it shared its model with the UK AI Safety Institute for a pre-deployment safety evaluation. The results of the evaluation have also been shared with the US AI Safety Institute, according to Anthropic. The UK safety body, understood to have so far only received models from Anthropic and Google DeepMind, will publish a portion of its evaluation results at some point in the future, it told MLex.In an unexpected move among AI developers, Anthropic submitted its latest AI model for pre-deployment safety evaluations before launching, the UK AI safety institute confirmed. This is understood to be only the second model submitted to the institute since it was established last autumn, despite developer promises....
