( September 15, 2022, 01:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A joint venture between China’s state-owned airport operator Shanghai Airport Authority, briefly known as AVINEX, and Eastern Air Logistics has received conditional antitrust approval from the country’s State Administration for Market Regulation. The regulator said in its clearance decision that the deal might restrict competition in the market for air cargo terminal services at the Shanghai Pudong airport, as well as the market for international/domestic air freight services whose departure or arrival locations are at the Pudong airport. To ease competition concerns, AVINEX, Eastern Air Logistics and the joint venture must compete fairly as independent entities and provide air cargo terminal services on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms.
