FTC seeks to block Jostens-American Achievement deal

( April 17, 2014, 22:07 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission issued an administrative complaint against class-ring company Jostens over its proposed purchase of close rival American Achievement. The complaint alleges that the proposed merger would have eliminated head-to-head competition between the two companies, allowing the combined firm to raise prices, while reducing the incentives to provide better quality and service to students and make it easier for the two remaining competitors to coordinate.See the Complaint below....
