Kaspersky Lab says US government violated its due process rights in software ban

( February 22, 2018, 23:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Kaspersky Lab has filed a motion for summary judgment that a decision by the US Department of Homeland Security to remove its software from government computers violated its Fifth Amendment right to due process, and that the DHS order is therefore invalid. "DHS has never claimed that the alleged 'information security risks' cited in the BOD were imminent, exigent, or urgent," Kaspersky said. "Many of the media reports cited by DHS in support of the BOD are several years old, and Plaintiffs’ software operates today in much the same way it always has. What has changed in 2017 is the increase in political scrutiny following Russia’s apparent interference in the 2016 presidential election, in which there is no allegation that Plaintiffs had any involvement."See documents below....
