EC Statement: State aid - Commission opens in-depth probe into restructuring of Bulgarian railway company BDZ

( November 9, 2011, 10:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission has today opened an in-depth investigation into state aid measures in favour of Bulgarian state-owned railway company BDZ in form of a capital injection of approx. 278 million euros over the period 2011-2016. The regulator has doubts that the company will still be viable after receiving the financing tools. Also, it is not clear whether the privatisation of the company will suffice to compensate competition distortions.Read the full statement below....
