Cryoinfra, Infra fined $14.8 million in Mexican probe into oxygen, nitrogen, argon markets

( September 14, 2022, 20:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Cryoinfra and Infra have been fined a total of 296.3 Mexican pesos ($14.8 million) by the national competition authority for failing to comply with commitments to improve competition in the markets for the sale and distribution of oxygen, nitrogen and argon, according to a statement. The Federal Economic Competition Commission, or Cofece, started investigating the case in 2014, following a complaint related to alleged discriminatory practices carried out by several companies in those markets. In 2018, Infra and Cryoinfra requested the early ruling of the case, where they offered measures to settle the investigation, including eliminating exclusivity clauses in existing business contracts.Cofece press release follows below in Spanish:...
