Jostens, American Achievement agree to drop deal following FTC decision

( April 17, 2014, 21:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Class-ring company Jostens announced on Thursday the termination of an agreement for Jostens to purchase jewelry seller American Achievement, following the US Federal Trade Commission's vote to block the proposed transaction. Jostens and its parent company Visant had announced the signing of a purchase agreement under which Jostens would buy American Achievement in November 2013. The FTC investigation, which has been ongoing since November, was focused on class rings.Statement follows in full....
