Tennant once considered Nilfisk deal, but opted to buy IPC instead, CEO says

( February 22, 2018, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tennant’s chief executive, Chris Killingstad, today said the Minnesota-based cleaning-equipment maker had once considered the idea of merging with Danish rival Nilfisk but decided instead to acquire IPC Group of Italy. “Prior to announcing the IPC acquisition, we reviewed a range of potential transactions, including the same concept shared by PrimeStone,” an activist investor that bought more than 5 percent of both Tennant and Nilfisk last year and pressed for a merger. The comments came during a fourth-quarter earnings call.Excerpts from Killingstad's comments follow....
