Uber's antitrust suit against St. Louis taxi commission survives immunity challenge

( October 6, 2016, 22:40 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Uber's antitrust lawsuit against the Metropolitan Taxicab Commission of Metropolitan St. Louis has so far survived a challenge from the commission that it has antitrust immunity under the state action doctrine. US District Judge Henry Autrey ruled the MTC has not met the active supervision requirement that would give it immunity. Autrey did dismiss the allegations against taxi companies but gave Uber the opportunity to file a new complaint. Uber alleges the MTC, its commissioner, and the taxi companies they run are effectively a cartel which is attempting to keep Uber out of St. Louis through onerous regulations....
