Senator Blackburn calls Snapchat a 'child predator's dream' in letter to company

( July 9, 2019, 15:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Senator Marsha Blackburn has written to Snapchat, calling its messaging auto-delete feature "a child predator's dream." The Tennessee Republican also called into question the company's recommendation algorithm, saying minors are steered to "suggestive and inappropriate material." Snapchat's policies adhere to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, she added, but the law's rules "no longer sufficiently protect our children in the new social-media age."
