Company Statement: Liberty Global sets out Kabel BW remedies

( November 3, 2011, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Liberty Global subsidiary Unitymedia has set out remedies to deal with German competition authority concerns over the company's purchase of cable services provider Kabel BW. Unitymedia plans to boost competition in the market for the supply of TV services to social home associations by offering free digital TV broadcasts in the regions of North-Rhine Westphalia and Hesse. It will allow internet and telephony providers to combine their services with Unitymedia's TV packages. Unitymedia has also offered to abandon the exclusivity of contracts with home associations and its ownership rights in distribution networks.The full press release (in German) follows:...
