South Korean revision to antitrust enforcement decree open for public consultation

( June 3, 2021, 07:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s draft enforcement decree of the Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act is seeking public comment on major changes to the country’s antitrust enforcement. The changes include a new merger notification threshold based on transaction value, updates on cartel regulation that will clarify exchange of information as cartel behavior, and new penalty rules for companies and individuals that submit false information or don't submit at all after receiving a request from the regulator as part of a fact-finding probe.
