The European Commission handed the companies a 50 percent reduction in recognition of the length of proceedings after judges quashed two earlier decisions. But the companies may argue that they should face no fine whatsoever given that some of the contested facts date back 30 years.The interplay between human rights and competition law could find itself before the EU courts once again after antitrust regulators slapped five makers of steel bars with fines of 16 million euros in a saga that has run for almost 19 years....
